  • kartabya 6/2/2014 4:44:39 PM

  • DaVion Woodard 6/2/2014 4:44:46 PM

  • NotaVirus_Click 6/2/2014 4:44:53 PM
Not a chance that iPhone will get dropped. I hope they add Amazon Streaming added to ATV, and if they can remove requiring a password for free apps that would be awesome
  • karan 6/2/2014 4:45:02 PM
    only the resellers
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:46:46 PM
Apple's top execs are starting to sit down. Phil Schiller, Eddy Cue, etc.
  • charles.cooper 6/2/2014 4:46:52 PM
Folks, we're going to close down comments at this point. Our bloggers are in place and the WWDC keynotes will get underway at 10 AM PT. Thanks all for your participation but stick with us in the meantime and the CNET Live show.
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:48:26 PM
Since this is Apple's developer conference, we're not going to see much -- if any -- hardware. It's going to be a pretty software-focused show.
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:48:53 PM
I wonder if the playlist we're listening to is actually iTunes Radio. haha
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:49:15 PM
    Or Beats! haha
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 4:49:56 PM

Apple execs Phil Schiller and Eddy Cue chat with Walt Mossberg before WWDC kicks off.

  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:50:03 PM
I'll be basically transcribing what the Apple execs say, while Dan Ackerman will provide some commentary. Tim Stevens is our handy photographer today, but he'll probably chime in with thoughts too. If we could all get our Internet working!

Is this the new OS X?

  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:53:21 PM
Apple has a couple iMacs set up on a table on the edge of the stage. We know we're going to hear about OS X today. Based on posters in the lobby, we're thinking it will be called Yosemite.
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:54:04 PM
We're getting our warning to turn devices to silent. (Apple knows people are NOT going to be turning those phones off. haha).
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 4:54:30 PM
Just wanted to say hello, everybody. I'm on photo duty, but as ever, you can hit me with your predictions at @Tim_Stevens. You know I love hearing 'em.
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:54:42 PM
We should be getting going pretty soon. There are still some people standing around, but most have taken their seats.
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:55:32 PM
FYI - Apple's stock isn't really doing much ahead of WWDC. It's off about half a percent, which is typical. The stock often drops following WWDC. "Sell on the news," or so analysts say.
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:55:50 PM
The music is actually so loud right now that I can barely hear myself think. haha.
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 4:57:37 PM
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:57:47 PM
Now we have a Coldplay track playing.
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 4:58:18 PM
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 4:59:35 PM
We should be starting anytime now.
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 4:59:37 PM
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 5:00:26 PM
Alright. Lights are dimming and the crowd is cheering.
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 5:00:36 PM
It's now super quiet. All we can hear is the end of the Coldplay song.
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 5:00:56 PM
Starting with a movie - with people describing what they think a developer looks like. Geeky, etc.
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 5:00:59 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 5:00:59 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 5:01:00 PM
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 5:01:48 PM
We're now seeing Daniel Libesking, an architect, talking about how he uses the iPad. (not sure if that's right)
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 5:01:49 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 5:01:55 PM

And quick comments from people on video about what app they can't live without.
  • Tim Stevens 6/2/2014 5:01:58 PM
  • dan.ackerman 6/2/2014 5:02:06 PM
Does every tech company start with a man-on-the-street video now?
  • dan.ackerman 6/2/2014 5:02:10 PM
I feel like Microsoft had one for Surface Pro 3, and maybe Acer just had one.
  • Shara Tibken 6/2/2014 5:02:29 PM
Emily Penn, Oceans Advocate is talking about Pangaea sailing exploration vehicle and what apps she uses to navigate, etc. Note, it's not Google Maps she's using to navigate on the ocean.

Some young guy just said the best app of all time has to be Tinder. Lots of laughs for that one.
