We'll be back @ 9:30 a.m. PT everyone.
Hi everyone! We'll be starting the pre-show in 5 minutes.
Hi everyone, and welcome to the CNET liveblog of today's Apple event!
We have our reporters on the scene at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, where they'll be reporting soon. (They're filing in now.)
In the meantime, welcome to the pre-game show.
There are literally tens of thousands of you watching right now.
No live video or stream, for those asking.
BUT, we will have a live Buzz Out Loud going on this page
with Molly Wood and Brian Tong, starting in a few minutes.
Don't fear, there will be pics from inside.
The event is scheduled to start in about 25 minutes
I doubt we'll see MacBooks today.
But Intel is refreshing its CPU (from Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge), so I wouldn't be surprised to see new MacBooks before summer.
I think 4G (LTE) wireless is definitely a feature a lot of folks are looking forward to. It would be Apple's first 4G device, and bode well for the next iPhone.
Our reporters are entering the venue now
Hey everyone, we just got all set up here.
As a reminder, we're expecting a new iPad with a high-res "Retina" screen,
possibly 4G wireless, a faster CPU, and maybe Siri as well
Rumor is that the body of the iPad 3 will be similar enough to the iPad 2 to use existing cases
We'll know for sure in an hour or so!
In addition to the new iPad (possibly called iPad HD).
Wow, this place just got spooky quiet. Just a lull between songs though. Some giggles about that.
Spotted in the front: Scott Forstall, Apple's SVP of iOS software. There's probably a reason he's here...
we're also expecting a new Apple TV box
Noteworthy: there's no chair as with previous years. That's a bit odd.
(not the rumored Apple HDTV, but just an upgrade of the existing Apple TV $99 box)
