Comments are open, though moderated. We'll most likely shut them down during the presentation itself.

It's been a long day of press conferences here in Las Vegas, even though the CES show floor officially opens tomorrow. I'll be hosting here with David Hamilton until our bloggers, Andrew Nusca and Antuan Goodwin, get in the room and set up.

So far we haven't seen a lot of car technology news at CES. That could be because the Detroit Motor Show begins next week.

And we're in! There's a big ol' three-section stage and a shiny new blue 2013 Ford Fusion here to greet us. We're right up front and dead-center -- the catbird seat(s), so to speak.
by Andrew Nusca
Basically, Ford announced it would integrate the Glympse app, which lets users share their location and destinations with one another, into its in-car Internet platform.

We're front and center for the Ford press conference. Metric's playing over the loudspeaker; I'm digging your musical taste so far, Ford.
by Antuan Goodwin

We've got the Black Keys on the tunes now. Bass is thumping. Seats are almost full!
by Andrew Nusca
Just got the "Please take your seats, the show's about to begin" announcement. Room's only about half full.

I think Antuan is hating on my seat-filling estimation capabilities.

Note that once the event begins, we will be limiting comments for the duration.

This is a pretty large ballroom here at the Mandalay Bay, so we're wondering what Ford has up its sleeve.
by Andrew Nusca
I'm hoping that this conference is longer than the 10 minute Lexus presser from this morning. (rolls eyes)

Music just got loud and the lights got lower. This is either turning into a nightclub or a presser.

by Andrew Nusca
Technology enables "a fully personalized driving experience."

Now showing vintage Ford ad: "Opening the highways to all mankind."
by Andrew Nusca
"We always need to focus on continuous improvement" to "make life better" and make "a better world."
by Andrew Nusca
It wouldn't be a Ford presser without a bit of harkening back to Henry Ford.
by Antuan Goodwin
The big theme here: Ford's pursuit of innovation is a century-old strategy.
by Andrew Nusca
"We're inviting software developers from all over the world" to develop "thoughtful, meaningful experiences" to open the highways to all mankind.
