We have a team of CNETers in line right now, waiting to get in the door to the ZTE press conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Not sure what the holdup is, but the event is slated to start at 1:30PM PT.
As you can see, with me today is Lynn La and Sarah Tew from CNET and Aloysius Low from CNET Asia!
10 minutes before the event is scheduled to start, but the line hasn't budged!
Gee whiz, no movement in this line whatsoever yet...
Howdy folks. I'll be your moderator for this CES event :)
@Fernando: Well the ZTE Grans S, which will be "unveiled" at this presser is the company's flagship phone.
I say "unveiled" because it's already on the CES show floor at the ZTE booth.
Strangely, this is the first presser I've been to yet at this CES that has started this late...
No wait, Nvidia started late...and then never ended...
Thanks to everyone tuning in! Please stay with us as we wait in line to get in...
Uh oh, Comic Sans on the poster. That's strike two for this event! (Aside from starting late).
Comic Sans is enough for me to just pack up and go home.
@Fernando: the Grand S will be available only in China for now, starting Q1.
The line hath indeed budged.
So we're moving (like snails) but we all still have to check in...
Now they want our business cards, even though we all already RSVPed for this.
We're in, but that was a total mess getting in the door.
It was a combination of a mob rushing in while throwing business cards at a table.
Wow this event is surprisingly packed. Or is this room just tiny?!
@justme: yup, just one phone
But it is a big deal for ZTE, as it will signify a leap into the high-end big leagues
@lynn This is basically an overflowing shoebox of reporters.
So we're all sittin' pretty in here, and no sign of this show starting yet...
Nevermind, I stand corrected.
A ZTE rep is on stage now, trying to get us "involved"
He's making everyone do jazz hands while the Moby song from The Bourne Ultimatum plays.
