When will the next AppleTV update be? Surely in time for the holidays?????by Steve Waddell
-
I though when Apple said "iPad Mini", the only "mini" will be the price and size.... for now keep it in sizeby Erick

nothing about iTunes 11 thenby CasualBrowser

CB: Yep, I didn't hear anything.by Declan McCullagh

A bit disappointing though, was hoping for the iPhone 6 :). All in all, great show, they dotted some i's here.by opanto39

@GaelicSoxFan we are already here... making fun of the more expensive, inferior product called teh iPad Mini.by nikecar

Apple's illusion is now officially bigger than their productsby Reza Goedar

What's funny are the peeps upset about the iPad refresh.. Meanwhile peeps are waiting on a nexus refresh update after how long?by KennWags
-
KennWags: I think the last Nexus phone refresh was a year ago. I'm waiting to see what Google comes out pre-holidays with before deciding to upgrade my iPhone or switch to Android.by Declan McCullagh
-
@David Byrd True but considering the fact that most 7" tablets have 1280x800 displays, the Mini's 1024x768 stretched to 8" is going to look sub-par.by Eye4detail

galaxy nexus = over a year agoby Matty321

Guess I will now wait for the upcoming second gen Nexus 7 with cellular connectivity, which will still be cheaper than the 16 GB Mini wifi.by P. Lee

They Failed the consumers and all there apple customers by pulling the new ipad and selling the ipad mini at a higher price. The consumers need something they can afford with today's economy, Apple fails to see that and they will lose customers and future sales with their greedby LOL@Apple

I for one am glad that they "reset" the iPad release to early fall. Too many Christmas presents were old news after a couple of months. I think it was a good move. Also I have the iPhone 5 (my first iPhone) and even though we have more than 10 iPods and iPads with the old connector I LOVE THE NEW LIGHTNING CONNECTOR!!!!!! I am soooooo glad they didn't go micro USB. Lightning is so much better, goes in both ways, and is a nice positive lock it is so much better.by 71spud

The new imac's sure look pretty cool!by Tap tapia
-
I don't mind the omission of the optical drive at all. The optical drive in my current iMac has been dead for 2 years. I'm on my second USB optical drive, and both work/worked better than my internal slot loading drive ever did. I use my USB optical drive all the time, to read and write DVDs, and to convert my sizeable CD library to Apple Lossless format.by Tom-R

@KennWags Are you really comparing an across-the-board update to Google adding another storage tier? Really?by Eye4detail
-
Not gonna lie a little pissed that they came out with new ipad........just bought the 3. If it were just lightning I wouldn't of cared. The mini I'm not interested in but no retina for that price is a bust to me. I'm sure it'll be retina next year they were probably giving themselves an update. Also love the new IMAC I'm sure you can buy an external optical drive.......this is what happens when things get thinner.by Glenn Gioe
-
Come on guys we wanted something new and because its after six months old....So.... If you had the new ipad ok... Dont buy the 4th generation. if you dont have one you will buy the 4th gen. The company is not doing anything else but to make more people go to ipad and not the "others". its a strategy... I like the new ipad , love the new imac , Still missing that retina display from mini. I am sure that a ipad mini with retina display and the A6X processor would have killed the Surface. But i think apple goes with the strategy one step , Million sales , another step , more millions.... thanks cnet...by maik

Why the need to get so thin that we lose functionality??? It's a DESKTOP, not a laptop.by Steve Waddell
-
Final thoughts (from someone who owns AAPL and GOOG)- This was a failure in just about every way.
1) They chose to price it out of the 7" market.
2) They built it out of inferior technology, specifically the processor and LCD
3) They chose to compare it to a *better* product onstage but pretended that theirs was better because they chose to run several apps that were better written for iPads. This made the presenters look desparate/disingenuous
4) They made it slightly larger than will fit into a man's pocket, so only people with pocketbooks can use it
5) Did I mention that it costs 65% more than the product with better specs???by Leeds -
KW: I think they were talking about the Nexus phone.by Declan McCullagh
-
Very disapointed... No retina on iPad min and iMac, no optical drive in iMac ( they should upgrade it with a bluray drive ) , iPad mini price to higher.... And a New new ipad .... After 6 month .... We miss you Steve !!!by Eric
-
Wish I waited another month I just got the iPad 3rd gen in September and its already been replaced.by Randy
-
Way to release a product that is already outperformed by Android. Where's the innovation? Making things smaller and more expensive?by almost bought 1
-
I'd prefer the clean look of a built-in optical drive. I do agree they could have updated it to a better unit.by Steve Waddell
-
there are plenty of other 7 tabs to choose from. I how ever wont give apple one cent for there over priced products that are only good for 6 months and then your product is old and outdated that 's insane.by LOL@Apple
-
@Glenn I agrees if it was just a new connector I could care less but when you touting my product being half as fast from 6 months ago I have an issueby Matty321
-
And it's almost time to end the chat. Comments: if you have 'em, post 'em!by Declan McCullagh

Been watching comments the whole time. People talking plenty about a refresh to the 7. Perhaps they're confused at what's coming Monday. ;-)by KennWags
-
I think all the other announcements were cool (Kinda blah on the iPad mini) the only issue is the iPad 4 ... slap int the face to iPad3 customers!by Matty321

Great job Apple. Everything looks really good. Especially the new iMac.by Chris

Great products all around... my jaw dropped when I saw the new iMacs.by Spielgo
-
No optical drive on the new iMac is crazy!by R.Borum
-
Keep it. Way too small and too expensive and feature thin. Samsung is a better value. Apple needs to get ahead of the innovation curve and quit playing catch up.by wc4r

Apple, its not like your putting out a
new albums this is the same ol' song and dance!by Googley -
Refurbished" New iPad (iPad 3rd generation) 64g wifi now $549 (Canada-$170 savings and US-$150 savings) on Apple store. I like how they changed the name from "New iPad" to just "iPad (3rd Generation)". Surprised they didn't just call it "touchpad"by richard victor
