Looks bigger than a phone - Facebook TV?
  • dan.farber 1/15/2013 5:45:37 PM
We are seated and ready to roll. HTC FB phone? Search? Messenger for x,y,z?
  • charles.cooper 1/15/2013 5:46:11 PM
For what it's worth, Wall Street's buying into the mystery press event. Stock's been strong in early trading.
  • ravishukle 1/15/2013 5:46:13 PM
How long is the whole event on for guys?
  • InvestorGuy 1/15/2013 5:46:19 PM
I think it will be a messenger that will put an end to SMS
  • Stefan 1/15/2013 5:46:24 PM
As they have "Come and see what we're buliding" as todays topic, i must be something like an device..
  • Chris Moore 1/15/2013 5:46:28 PM
Any hints from the signs up around the room? Any other companies there? Partnership announcement perhaps?
  • charles.cooper 1/15/2013 5:46:39 PM
That HTC rumor is running rampant today.
  • Marcus Goldfinch 1/15/2013 5:47:14 PM
Whatever it is.. you know it's gonna' be a game changer! I hope they give developers a chance to test-run it! Bring the NOISE!
  • Paul Sloan 1/15/2013 5:47:16 PM
Welcome, all. This Paul Sloan. I'm at Facebook...eager to see what they have cooking.

Is this going to be a live video feed or a live blog?
  • Nader Houella 1/15/2013 5:47:23 PM
I hope the 'next big thing' will not raise a privacy concern!
  • Ankit 1/15/2013 5:47:28 PM
Will my default search engine tomorrow be facebooksearch.com?? ;)
  • Vaish 1/15/2013 5:47:33 PM
Facebook's big announcement is that they are dumping Edgerank and all Page posts will reach all fans and we won't need to pay to promote them anymore.

Oh crap... sorry, I just woke up from a beautiful dream. Never mind.
  • Jared.larson 1/15/2013 5:47:41 PM
Hoping its some optimizations to their mobile interface. I do the vast majority of my facebook-ing from my iPhone and iPad.
  • Andy 1/15/2013 5:47:43 PM
Its going to be a dud....Facebook is like the Emperors New Clothes. Nothing really there.
  • Tom 1/15/2013 5:47:47 PM
maybe it's a new watch for Zucker so he can start events on time :)
  • Yuvraj Gupta 1/15/2013 5:47:52 PM
Looking forward for FB phone or a big challenge to Google Search... # Excited ;)
  • Kenneth Thomsen 1/15/2013 5:47:54 PM
See what we're building". It could be their new FB campus + new datacenter? Maybe prepared for some kind of new technology, like a search engine
  • Anas Shafiq 1/15/2013 5:48:00 PM
@ravishukle it's on for guys and gals both. the whole event is for both. Otherwise it would be sexist!
  • DonnaGilliland 1/15/2013 5:48:20 PM
Exciting event. There has been much speculation preceding this event. My thought is that the BIG announcement is related to Search and Mobile. What do you think?
  • charles.cooper 1/15/2013 5:49:11 PM
Another stat to chomp on before the shindig gets underway: When it came to mobile advertising, FB had an 8.8% share last year - that's according to eMarketer. May not sound like much but it was ZERO in 2011.
  • James Martin 1/15/2013 5:49:26 PM
  • Art Deco 1/15/2013 5:49:32 PM
I heard FB invented a way to skip network TV ads
  • InvestorGuy 1/15/2013 5:49:40 PM
They just held a huge "hackathon" recently to finish whatever it is.
  • Nilesh 1/15/2013 5:49:48 PM
FB might be entering into hardware business...a news which can boost shares..!!
  • Nader Houella 1/15/2013 5:49:58 PM
I think the next big thing will include providing the users with opportunities to customize how their profile looks like (color, structure..etc)
  • Paul Sloan 1/15/2013 5:50:34 PM
It's a small room -- but packed with press.
  • Andy 1/15/2013 5:50:35 PM
What would you search on Facebook? If Google crawled Facebook content it would be more interesting....
  • Peter Frazier 1/15/2013 5:51:17 PM
+nader customization would be cool.. but hope they don't let it go like myspace did.. ugggh.. what an eyesore..
  • Steven 1/15/2013 5:51:29 PM
Maybe they will finally add a dislike button.
  • AManduh 1/15/2013 5:52:06 PM
I think we are now going to pay to block the paid advertising.. Then pay some more to leave messages. It's just become a big commercial that we are going to have to pay for someway.
  • InvestorGuy 1/15/2013 5:52:13 PM
Maybe something like an "office suite" of products for facebook
  • Georgi 1/15/2013 5:52:37 PM
Both a phone and a search seem a bit pointless.Maybe something for the mobile versions ?
  • Nader Houella 1/15/2013 5:53:07 PM
@Steven although this would be good news for the users, it won't be good news for businessess and marketers using the facebook platform. i.e facebook would rather be loyal to those paying it money (busineses) and not users (free)
