Greetings from the Google I/O press line! I think I know why they call it "press." We're getting ready to file in...
We heard the nerd cry from the floor down below (non-press) shouting their excitement. Rachel King says, "It's like Braveheart."
Welcome all. Paul Sloan here from CNET. Our reporters are getting into the center.
Good morning! (oh god, was that too perky?)
@trudat - 2.5 is what's planned
Officially, the keynote ends at 11:35 am PT
Hey guys, Stephen Shankland here, too. Like Seth says, the keynote is supposed to end at 11:35 a.m., but if there's some Google Glass leaping-out-of-a-plane PR stunts it might go over.
Maggie Reardon is on the live blog too!
@Trudat: It's a long keynote, but it's only one this year. In Google I/Os past, there was one on each of the first two days.
As with years past, it was not unlike the scene in Indiana Jones where he saves his hat, but in reverse, followed by the running of the tech nerd bulls.
Just for the record I did not roll into the keynote Indiana Jones style. I wish I had though. That would have been a good story to tell.
You know when they start playing Beasties "Intergalactic" that it's serious...
Props to Maggie for live preggo-blogging.
Just to explain the picture James just posted of me in the live blog. I did not have a big breakfast this AM. I am actually 5 months pregnant.
Now we have a dancing jiggly colored blob pulsing on the screen up front. It's getting spiky as the music gets louder and the countdown clock descends.
