Bulgarian blog says that Android 5 will be Lollipop. No more branded candy
  • James Martin 6/25/2014 3:52:14 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:52:35 PM
Look at that killer shot from James, just the right amount of desaturation.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:52:52 PM
You can see people still pouring in the doors, taking their seats. Lots of chatter and buzz, as you'd expect.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:53:17 PM
And lots of photogs prairie dogging it, popping up, grabbing a photo, then popping back down again to upload.
  • James Martin 6/25/2014 3:53:39 PM
  • John Castro 6/25/2014 3:54:01 PM
Personally, I'm most excited to seea new Nexus made by HTC. That would get me to ditch my Jetstream
  • Centex763 6/25/2014 3:54:09 PM
@JP. I believe Apple announced 89% of devices were on iOS 7. The number of originals, 3G, and 3GS' is paltry compared to the number of even just iphone 5S' apple has sold.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:54:49 PM
Some celebs in the house. Hugo Barra, who left Google for Xiaomi, is in attendance. As is Rich Miner, creator of Android and now a major player in Google Ventures.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:55:46 PM
Did I mention we have Ethernet here at our seats? Live bloggers with Ethernet are happy live bloggers.
  • James Martin 6/25/2014 3:56:48 PM
  • seth.rosenblatt 6/25/2014 3:57:12 PM
It's a horse trade for right now: we have ethernet, but no power...
  • James Martin 6/25/2014 3:58:04 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:58:33 PM
There's Mr. Barra, having a conversation. He looks like he's still liked around these parts.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:58:53 PM
The live video is up on the stage. Is the stream working yet? If so, hello. hello.
  • James Martin 6/25/2014 3:58:58 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:59:36 PM
We're expecting this keynote to run upwards of two hours, maybe even 2:30. Yes, a long one. Make sure you get an extra cup of coffee and take care of those bathroom breaks now.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:59:40 PM
    Wishing I'd done the same...
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 3:59:53 PM
There goes the horn again. Is that a sort of 1 minute warning? People are cheering for it. Cheering for a horn.
  • James Martin 6/25/2014 4:00:44 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:00:54 PM
    Last call for predictions. Hit us up! @Tim_Stevens, @Jamesco, @richardjnieva, @sethr, @onegarzon.
  • Albatross 6/25/2014 4:01:30 PM
Why is it scary for Google to know everything about you? Do you feel that way about Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, American Express, etc. I agree, but not just with Google.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:02:25 PM
Craziest rumor we heard before the show? Blood-borne robots that will report wirelessly back to your Android Wear wristwatch. True? Golly I hope so. Seems unlikely, though.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:02:36 PM
"Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats. We will begin in 5 minutes."
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:03:10 PM
Guess we're running 7 minutes late. That means 7 more minutes of idle chatter from yours truly. Fun!
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:03:25 PM
There's the horn again, and the cheers again.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:03:41 PM
The bowling ball in that giant contraption is making its way slowly to the left, ticking down the minutes until proper beginning time.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:04:07 PM
It's all decidedly steampunk. Steampunk with a bowling ball. Bowling punk? Steam bowling?
  • James Martin 6/25/2014 4:04:22 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:04:22 PM
"Ladies and gentlemen we are about to begin. Please take your seats." Whoo!
  • James Martin 6/25/2014 4:05:03 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:05:08 PM
Now we've got some Go Team playing. This I can get behind.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:05:14 PM
And the horn! The horn again. Always with the horn.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:05:27 PM
It's like I'm back in NYC. I thought SF'ers were more civilized than that.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:06:04 PM
Google PR personnel looking slightly anxious. That's how you know it's almost time.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:06:11 PM
"Ladies and gentlemen we are about to begin. Please take your seats."
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:06:32 PM
    Told ya.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:07:12 PM
Wow, still lots of general attendees filing in the door. The line outside was looooong, all the way around Moscone. Hopefully they don't miss the opening hysterics.
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:07:15 PM
Lights going down, here we go!
  • seth.rosenblatt 6/25/2014 4:07:16 PM
    Here we go...
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:07:39 PM
And here goes the bowling ball, it released a hammer, which kicked off another machine.
  • James Martin 6/25/2014 4:08:03 PM
  • Tim Stevens 6/25/2014 4:08:13 PM
Wow, the machine stretches across the entire stage, parts of it happening for real, some of it digitally simulated.
  • seth.rosenblatt 6/25/2014 4:08:20 PM
Rube Goldberg machine for the win
