-
Dan Graziano 8/19/2014 2:24:20 PMIt continues HTC's trend of long product names - remember the HTC EVO 4G LTE?

-
Dan Graziano 8/19/2014 2:26:34 PMThe HTC One M8 for Windows will run Windows Phone 8.1, which includes the Cortana voice assistant.
-
Marguerite Reardon 8/19/2014 2:26:46 PMDarren Laybourn from Microsoft says that the company redesigned the software so that it was worthy of the best hardware out there.
-

Joking around with Cortana, asking her what she's wearing...
-
Marguerite Reardon 8/19/2014 2:27:39 PMLaybourn is demonstrating the Contano voice assistant. A little back and forth banter between Laybourn and his device.
-
Dan Graziano 8/19/2014 2:27:49 PMThe Windows model is also compatible with that cool Dot View case we saw with the original M8.
-
Marguerite Reardon 8/19/2014 2:28:24 PM"What we've been able to do is take best of Windows phone and best of HTC hardware, but [it] wouldn't matter without a great network," Laybourn said.
-

-
Marguerite Reardon 8/19/2014 2:29:59 PMJeff Dietel from Verizon has taken the stage here and he touts Verizon's great network, including the latest RoutMetrics report that puts Verizon at the top of the heap.

Dan Graziano 8/19/2014 2:32:13 PMHow will the HTC One M8 for Windows compete with Verizon's other Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia Icon?
-
Marguerite Reardon 8/19/2014 2:32:34 PMMackenzie is back. "Great for us to be here announcing a premium device." He also calls the $99 pricing a bonus.
-
Dan Graziano 8/19/2014 2:33:08 PMThe Icon has a 20-megapixel camera, compared to HTC's gimmicky "duo-camera" and "ultrapixel" technology.
-
Marguerite Reardon 8/19/2014 2:33:35 PMMackenzie invites journalists and bloggers to check out their devices and is giving away review units of the device including an Xbox-inspired case.
-
Marguerite Reardon 8/19/2014 2:34:36 PMMackenzie is getting some questions but the handlers are trying to move him along. I have to run to interview him really quick and Dan G will take over from here.
-
Dan Graziano 8/19/2014 2:35:01 PMHTC wouldn't clarify whether the HTC One M8 for Windows will be available overseas.
-
Dan Graziano 8/19/2014 2:35:24 PMAs of now, the device is a Verizon Wireless exclusive and only available in the United States.
-
Dan Graziano 8/19/2014 2:37:10 PMAnd that's a wrap. Thanks for joining us today. Be sure to check back for our hands-on impressions.
-
John Falcone 8/19/2014 2:39:36 PMSo, what do you guys think?
-
Derilyct 8/19/2014 2:39:49 PMI like the Icon but I feel like there is more in this phone. Too bad about the camera.
-
Dennis 8/19/2014 2:39:57 PMWould love to see a feature-by-feature comparison with Lumia Icon. Especialy the camera. I'm thinking the M* will win.
-
John Falcone 8/19/2014 2:40:13 PMI think you'll get that feature by feature comparison from us later today, Dennis. :-)
-
Chan4k 8/19/2014 2:40:22 PMNothing attractive....Consumers gonna get confusion between same phone has dual OS
-
John Falcone 8/19/2014 2:41:17 PMScott Stein got to see this phone under embargo last week -- here are his first impressions: www.cnet.com
-
Dennis 8/19/2014 2:45:43 PMWhen doing the comparision please check out the audio quality on video recordings. The Lumia shines there.
-
GregMG 8/19/2014 2:45:48 PMI hope HTC doesn't KEEP this being a big red exclusive. IF they wanted this phone to succeed, they should try to get it in front of as many customers as possible. ESPECIALLY Sprint, who hasn't had a decent Windows Phone in YEARS! Carrier exclusivity sucks.
