"But we believe in a life without boundaries. That's why we spread LTE networks to the corners of the world. We breathe innovation into every device we create."
  • Richard Trenholm 2/23/2014 2:23:57 PM
Someone walking across a field? Check.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:24:00 PM
Dudes are walking out of offices into fields, ladies stepping from business buildings to beaches. A dude just busted through a wall.
  • Richard Trenholm 2/23/2014 2:24:12 PM
    A DJ? Check.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:24:18 PM
That window? That window can't keep me out of the club. Huawei wants you to break that window. Break it down.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:24:36 PM
Tagline? "Live without Boundaries. Make it Possible." Again.
  • Richard Trenholm 2/23/2014 2:24:41 PM
    A beach at dawn? Check.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:24:47 PM
Okay, Zoe is back up again to tell us how amazing that video was.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:24:50 PM
    And how excited she is.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:25:05 PM
And how much she's looking forward to "experiencing more freedom" in her mobile life.
  • Richard Trenholm 2/23/2014 2:25:08 PM
"Amazing video there!" Alright Zoe, calm down.

I had to Google the compere Zoe Salmon. Turns out she used to present Blue Peter. And she is VERY excited about Huawei.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:26:17 PM
We're told to expect a hotspot, a phone, and a couple of tablets.
  • Richard Trenholm 2/23/2014 2:26:32 PM
    Five new products.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:26:40 PM
It's the Huawei E5786. "The world's fastest mobile hotspot." LTE CAT-6 and a very charming name!
  • sarahtew 2/23/2014 2:26:44 PM
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:26:59 PM
He's talking about the beautiful shape and screen that you "want to hold."
  • Richard Trenholm 2/23/2014 2:27:16 PM
"The world's fastest Wi-Fi hotspot," promises a company that can't do stable Wi-Fi at its own press conference.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:27:18 PM
300Mbps downloads, which means an "HD Movie" in under 30 seconds. Not sure how long that movie is...
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:27:53 PM
It has a 28nm HPM Coretex A9 chip and support for 802.11a/b/g/n and 802.11ac.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:28:15 PM
10 devices can be connected and 10 hours of battery life. It's a 3,000mAh cell in there.
  • Richard Trenholm 2/23/2014 2:28:30 PM
According to that picture showing outlines of the new products, one of the five new devices is round. Or egg-shaped.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:28:37 PM
Ahh, it can also charge up your other devices. You can plug them in and they'll pull charge from the device.
  • sarahtew 2/23/2014 2:28:41 PM
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:28:58 PM
There's a QR code feature that makes connecting easy, we're told.
  • sarahtew 2/23/2014 2:29:03 PM
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:29:16 PM
"This is the world's fastest mobile WiFi hotspot. We're really proud of it."

  • Richard Trenholm 2/23/2014 2:29:54 PM
The Wi-Fi hotspot has an app. That's a trend we'll see a lot of this week: devices that don't have a screen but pair with your phone to manage them.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:29:57 PM
A supportive round of applause for the mobile hotspot.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:30:11 PM
Next up: the Huawei Ascend G6.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:30:18 PM
"Empowers you to enjoy and share better."
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:30:47 PM
"This product has been designed principally for the 18 - 30 year old market. That's the generation that, we all know, really loves to share."
  • Richard Trenholm 2/23/2014 2:31:22 PM
Now I'm feeling so fly like a G6, Like a G6, Like a G6. And now that song is in your head. You're welcome.
  • Tim Stevens 2/23/2014 2:31:27 PM
Huawei is saying there's more "selective" sharing -- less public broadcast and more private sharing (Snapchat). And less "daily chores" and more "meaningful moments."

Demo video time, dude cruising on his scooter to pick up his lady... but not before doing some rock climbing at the library, apparently.
