  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:07:59 PM
    Welcome, everyone.
  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:08:59 PM
We have Dan Ackerman, Scott Stein, and Daniel Terdiman live at the conference, along with a few other CNET types (Molly Wood, Brian Tong), doing what they do.
  • Scott Stein 6/4/2012 4:09:27 PM
Hey, Scott Stein here as well. Seated at Microsoft, watching a giant green screen at the Galen Center as folks file in.
  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:09:40 PM
I'll be moderating comments, right up until the start of the show. After that we'll leave it to Dan, Scott, and Daniel.
  • Ricochet07 6/4/2012 4:10:35 PM
    everybody amped?
  • dan.ackerman 6/4/2012 4:10:41 PM
Hey all -- Dan Ackerman here, seated just off the floor for a change. I'm usually up in the nosebleeds.
  • Scott Stein 6/4/2012 4:11:27 PM
Either the crowd feels quieter, or I got here earlier.
  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:11:38 PM
    So, so amped.
  • dan.ackerman 6/4/2012 4:11:54 PM
As far back as I can remember, MS has done the first press conference of E3.
  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:12:10 PM
I'm actually interested to see if this Smart Glass thing comes off.
  • Dem0ney 6/4/2012 4:12:12 PM
Will there be video of the event when it starts?
  • James Martin 6/4/2012 4:12:19 PM
  • dan.ackerman 6/4/2012 4:12:23 PM
And, it's always the most competently produced one, with the best speakers, the fewest technical flubs.
  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:12:40 PM
@Dem0neyt, yup, the video feed will start at 12:30 ET
  • Nickjjack 6/4/2012 4:12:49 PM
What are you expecting to see today?
  • dan.ackerman 6/4/2012 4:13:09 PM
Oddly, I'd expect that from sony, with its big media background, but the Sony press conference is always punctuated with awkwardness.
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/4/2012 4:13:14 PM
I'm knee to knee with Scott Stein here at the Galen Center. I think we're literally in the same section as last year (sec. 112).
  • Scott Stein 6/4/2012 4:13:19 PM
  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:13:33 PM
@Nickjjack: Halo 4, Kinect update, maybe this smart glass thing. New Gears of war.
  • Scott Stein 6/4/2012 4:13:49 PM
I think my elbow just posted a question mark.
  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:13:53 PM
And Bakalar! Forgot to mention Jeff. He's at the show as well.
  • xboxnerd 6/4/2012 4:14:04 PM
So what do you think the chances of a new Kinect will be? Or can they just do software updates to improve Kinect?
  • Strategery 6/4/2012 4:14:15 PM
Prediction: Microsoft trys to pretend people care about Kinect
  • Ricochet07 6/4/2012 4:14:24 PM
    halo 4 gameplay
  • dan.ackerman 6/4/2012 4:14:27 PM
In the audience so far, lots of MacBooks, a smattering of iPads.
  • Zap 6/4/2012 4:14:36 PM
Any info on Dawnguard? Or will that be Bethesda?
  • Scott Stein 6/4/2012 4:14:59 PM
Someone next to me has a camcorder! I'm sitting in 2003.
  • Daniel Terdiman 6/4/2012 4:15:12 PM
Welcome, everyone! I think Xbox is doing something this morning. If not, there's going to be a lot of unhappy gamers/game journalists in LA. :-)
  • dan.ackerman 6/4/2012 4:15:14 PM
Judging by the big Halo 4 promotional mirror sticker I found in my hotel room, I'm guessing H4is going to be the big sell here.
  • James Martin 6/4/2012 4:15:15 PM
  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:15:18 PM
Dawnguard is a 360 timed exclusive. Definitely expect to see something about it.
  • xboxnerd 6/4/2012 4:15:23 PM
I care about Kinect!!! I use it for Netflix all the time. Better than a remote.
  • dan.ackerman 6/4/2012 4:15:57 PM
Personally, I'm interested in possible Windows 8 integration -- but I'm unsure what kind of useful form that could take.
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/4/2012 4:16:01 PM
What game is gonna kick off the press conference? Halo 4, Black Ops 2, Gears 4, or GTA 5?
  • Scott Stein 6/4/2012 4:16:02 PM
What I use the Kinect for: voice-based Bing search. And...that's mostly it.
  • Scott Stein 6/4/2012 4:16:22 PM
Or, Windows RT. As it's unfortunately called.
  • Dem0ney 6/4/2012 4:16:47 PM
I use Kinect so my kids can play bowling and not chuck a remote through the screen (She's 6)
  • dan.ackerman 6/4/2012 4:16:50 PM
Halo RT! Had to get that out there.
  • Nickjjack 6/4/2012 4:16:53 PM
@jeff.bakalar The Black Ops 2 trailer looked horribe
  • danthemuffinman 6/4/2012 4:17:02 PM
Looks super awesome. I suppose they may show us IE for xbox?
  • xboxnerd 6/4/2012 4:17:50 PM
I am on windows 8 right now. Despite what many people say, I find this new interface fresh and intuitive.
  • David 6/4/2012 4:17:57 PM
    Black Ops... ugh...
  • James Martin 6/4/2012 4:17:58 PM
  • Ricochet07 6/4/2012 4:18:26 PM
    did it start yet?
  • Rich Brown 6/4/2012 4:18:38 PM
    hasn't started yet. 12:30 ET
