Ruined cities, robot-looking dudes, military grunts shouting orders about positions, you get the idea.
  • Ian Sherr 6/9/2014 4:38:50 PM
The men jump out of their vehicle (helicopter?) and begin moving through a building and (what else?) shooting at unnamed enemies.

Apparently there are jet-packs of sorts in this game. The demo player just jumped down an elevator shaft and used jets to slow his descent. There are also mech robots. Answer to "Titanfall"? Maybe. But games have also been using these types of things for ages.
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:39:02 PM
  • Scott Stein 6/9/2014 4:39:09 PM
A long demo of Call of Duty: It feels like E3 old times.
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/9/2014 4:39:27 PM
The jetpacking looks fun. Where have I seen that before? Oh right, TITANFALL
  • Scott Stein 6/9/2014 4:39:53 PM
This almost feels like a Gears of War stand-in.
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:40:10 PM
  • dan.ackerman 6/9/2014 4:40:14 PM
Last year's Call of Duty entry was especially forgettable, which hints that the series is suffering from the dreaded curse of the "annual upgrade cycle," where a new entry is forced out each year, ready or not.
  • Ian Sherr 6/9/2014 4:40:52 PM
Lots of shooting, loud noises and yelling. There's a lot of eye candy going on, with a destroyed city and many sparks, flying machines, etc. there's also a bunch going on in the background, with all sorts of explosions and enemies moving around.
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:40:54 PM
  • Scott Stein 6/9/2014 4:40:56 PM
I like the futuristic vibe, but it is starting to feel like every other futuristic shooter out there.
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:41:17 PM
  • Scott Stein 6/9/2014 4:41:33 PM
The future will not be peaceful. We get it.
  • dan.ackerman 6/9/2014 4:41:59 PM
We could, of course, have a longer discussion about how "next-gen" gaming needs to decide if it's actually going to produce new types of games, or just the same games with nicer graphics.
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:42:09 PM
  • Scott Stein 6/9/2014 4:42:54 PM
This seems like it'll instantly become one of the top Xbox One games to get. But...consider the competition.
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/9/2014 4:42:56 PM
It's true, a lot of what we're seeing is just cinematics weaved into the gameplay.
  • Scott Stein 6/9/2014 4:43:25 PM
I hope you can play as Kevin Spacey. Seriously.
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:43:27 PM
  • dan.ackerman 6/9/2014 4:43:27 PM
Audible groan from the audience as the CoD character loses an arm in a gruesome fashion.
  • Ian Sherr 6/9/2014 4:43:29 PM
Now a friend from the game has just sacrificed himself to blow up a flying machine. Lots of drama, people shouting the player's name, "Mitchel."

Sadly, after an explosion, the player is left without a left arm as well.
  • dan.ackerman 6/9/2014 4:43:35 PM
    Release date, 11/4/14.
  • Ian Sherr 6/9/2014 4:43:58 PM
CoD Advanced Warfare coming in November
  • dan.ackerman 6/9/2014 4:44:05 PM
Dan Greenwalt from the studio that makes Forza is up next.
  • dan.ackerman 6/9/2014 4:44:33 PM
My wristband is glowing red again. Perhaps Microsoft is not pleased with our liveblogging...
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:44:38 PM
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:45:12 PM
  • Ian Sherr 6/9/2014 4:45:40 PM
Now discussing Forza, a launch title for Xbox One late last year. They're discussing new race tracks, available today, which were painstakingly reproduced from the real world. It will also be free.
  • dan.ackerman 6/9/2014 4:45:47 PM
A new racetrack, the Nurburing, is available today as a free download for last year's Forza 5. Up next, Forza Horizon 2, a new game.
  • Scott Stein 6/9/2014 4:45:53 PM
Bands are glowing again. Does this mean something?
  • Ian Sherr 6/9/2014 4:46:20 PM
Ralph Fulton now shows off Forza Horizon 2, the next iteration for the series. "Our car list is bigger and more diverse than ever," he says
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:46:59 PM
  • dan.ackerman 6/9/2014 4:47:11 PM
"All in stunning 1080p." -- interesting that other tech industries are talking 4K, etc., while we're still using 1080 as a selling point for consoles.
  • Ian Sherr 6/9/2014 4:47:33 PM
The game will also run in 1080P, something worth noting since the Xbox One has been knocked by gamers for not playing all it's games at the high-end HD settings.

Forza Horizon 2 comes Sept 13
  • Scott Stein 6/9/2014 4:47:42 PM
I love Forza Horizon. That being we need another racing game with Forza branding right now for Xbox One?
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:48:47 PM
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:48:55 PM
  • Ian Sherr 6/9/2014 4:49:17 PM
Now we have some pop music and shots of various high end cars lots of us won't ever afford. And our wrist bands in the audience are glowing again--alternating red and white.

Forza's newest features will include an open world for players to drive around in and 100-player clubs where gamers can get together and race.
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/9/2014 4:49:21 PM
    2K's Evolve is up next
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:50:17 PM
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/9/2014 4:50:30 PM
It's 4-player team-based gameplay where you work together to take down a beast
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/9/2014 4:50:44 PM
And Xbox One will get DLC first
  • Josh Miller 6/9/2014 4:50:55 PM
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/9/2014 4:51:04 PM
That's Microsoft's move on multiplayer games. Get the DLC first.
