This is going to be an exciting day for phones. We've got the Nokia/Microsoft press event now, followed by the Motorola/Verizon launch just after.

Here we are at Microsoft and Nokia's big morning jam!
by Brian Bennett
Kent, Roger, and Brian are getting seated and settled. Brian, what's the scene like there?
by Jessica Dolcourt
We're live at Nokia. What would you like to see?
by Kent German
Lots of folks here despite the rain too!
by Brian Bennett
I get the feeling this will be a big news event. There's a vibe in the air man.
by Brian Bennett
Lots of blue. blue, blue...Nokia blue.
by Brian Bennett
@Ion Yep, this is all about Microsoft and Windows Phone for Nokia.
by Jessica Dolcourt
Also there are two giant white phone lights at each corner of the stage!
by Brian Bennett
Or should I say giant phones that have lights inside...what could they be?
by Brian Bennett
It's getting hot, sweaty, and crowded in here....and the club music fits right in.
by Brian Bennett
Yep, people are fighting for seats all around me.
by Brian Bennett
There have been plenty of leaks leading up to this event:

@Brian Bennett Whip out that camera and take a photo!
by Jessica Dolcourt
@hockeyduck3 Sort of, not really. Some BlackBerrys have built-in support for Qi inductive charging, which doesn't work that well in my experience. But then again, I never tried it on a BlackBerry.
by Jessica Dolcourt
I believe that the Palm Pre had a wireless, inductive charger
by john.falcone
Yeah, Roger Cheng just arrived!
by Brian Bennett
Hey! I slogged through the rain and humidity of Manhattan to get to this event. It better be worth it.
by Roger Cheng
@mikkop71 It won't be the end of the story, but it'll make the story that much harder. Nokia must have had some ideas in the hopper from a long time back. This is their chance to put lab ideas into action.
by Jessica Dolcourt
For those who are asking: photos should begin flowing in soon, but the real event won't be starting until 10am ET / 7am PT

The Nokia event is bathed in blue light, with large blue signage on stage. That's funny considering the leaked shots we've seen show yellow and red Lumia phones.
by Roger Cheng
What Nokia and Microsoft need to do is make the media store stuff fun to use I think.
by Brian Bennett
You can expect colors to be a big point of focus for Nokia. The blue version of the Lumia 900 for AT&T actually outsold the black one, so the carriers will likely take a more serious look at colors beyond the boring black and white iterations.
by Roger Cheng
All this blue lighting is make me feel really chill....in an excited kind of way!
by Brian Bennett
@Roger Cheng The Lumia 900/800 have taught us to count on Nokia for pops of color, as well as basic black.
by Jessica Dolcourt
Hi folks, Wi-Fi inside the event is a bit spotty. We'll have more photos!
by Kent German
@AJ: Roger, Brian and I are at the event. Sarah Tew will have photos. Jessica and John are hosting our live blog from SF and NY respectively.
by Kent German
Looks like the video stream is attempting to flicker to life
by john.falcone
To set the stage: the weather here in NY today is... rather disgusting. Overcast, hot, and extremely humid. Just had a quick downpour about 30 minutes ago.
by john.falcone
Uh oh. Kent has his *serious* face on...
