  • Rich Brown 1/7/2013 3:49:04 AM
Welcome everyone. We're waiting poolside for Nvidia to start their press conference.
  • Ace Legend 1/7/2013 3:49:12 AM
I would like to know what to expect from Nvidia. They aren't really like Apple, Google, Samsung, etc. What would they show off here?
  • Rich Brown 1/7/2013 3:49:56 AM
Consensus seems to be they will show off Tegra 4, along with some kind of gaming-related announcement. People waiting out here seem to think a dedicated gaming tablet.
  • Cuda Power 1/7/2013 3:50:10 AM
Hope it is new SoC with real power :p
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 3:50:17 AM
  • Ace Legend 1/7/2013 3:51:53 AM
@Rich Brown Would this tablet run Windows 8 or a custom OS to compete with other consoles?
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 3:52:09 AM
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 3:52:56 AM
  • Rich Brown 1/7/2013 3:52:58 AM
Given Nvidia's PC gaming roots, I'd bet Windows 8.
  • NYCtoCOE 1/7/2013 3:53:19 AM
    I would think Android OS
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 3:54:36 AM
  • Rich Brown 1/7/2013 3:54:42 AM
Android isn't crazy either. I think the Ouya and the GameStick are showing there's enthusiasm for Android-driven gaming devices. Small audience there, though. Maybe a Valve box?
  • Jdaff 1/7/2013 3:55:18 AM
All I know is that CUDA cores have dramatically boosted the growth of tech. So much that what is going to be shown here is something that helps all people build a faster and efficient future.
  • Cuda Power 1/7/2013 3:55:19 AM
well win 8 rt /android/and Linux for arm
  • Dwight Goliday 1/7/2013 3:55:28 AM
    Tegra 4 should be amazing
  • Ace Legend 1/7/2013 3:55:30 AM
@NYCtoCOE Possible. But I do think Rich Brown is right. Nvidia does seem to be loyal to the PC. However, Android would make more sense for a gaming tablet. Windows still screams productivity, not entertainment for me. Android seems a little more based towards gaming.
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 3:55:36 AM
  • Vegeta 1/7/2013 3:56:09 AM
I hope the GTX 7xx series kicks ass!
  • Cuda Power 1/7/2013 3:56:23 AM
Win8 rt is faster then android by far
  • FrozenK 1/7/2013 3:57:47 AM
A Valve box would be amazing!
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 3:57:48 AM
  • Rich Brown 1/7/2013 3:57:55 AM
Win RT is a challenge for content right now though. MIcrosoft can def. put muscle behind getting developers on board, but still a question mark whether people actually want a limited Windows experience.
  • NYCtoCOE 1/7/2013 3:58:37 AM
@Ace Legend Yea I just hope androi can mprove there security and anti-pirating on here OS so othere developers can come over wouldnt wannawork hard for nouthing.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 3:59:24 AM
I hope Tegra 4 is amazing. Tegra 3 aged quickly.
  • Ace Legend 1/7/2013 4:01:02 AM
@NYCtoCOE True. I am an app developer myself, so I can understand the problem here. However Windows isn't known for it's lack of piracy either. Separate OS's are really the only way to solve that problem. Wii OS, etc.
  • Rich Brown 1/7/2013 4:01:54 AM
As a gamer, I like the idea of a Valve box. Valve also has developer influence, but Linux driven could be a pretty big limit on their existing game library.
  • Rich Brown 1/7/2013 4:02:00 AM
Sitting here trying to figure out where to rush to once the doors open. I predict someone falls in the pool.
  • Rich Brown 1/7/2013 4:03:43 AM
If not a tablet, any ideas about what Nvidia might announce?
  • Ace Legend 1/7/2013 4:04:10 AM
@Rich Brown True. But Linux is on its rise. Ubuntu and Ubuntu Mobile are doing pretty well. Not to mention Android and Chrome OS both run on this kernel.
  • Jon O'Brien 1/7/2013 4:05:44 AM
@Rich Brown, I think that Nvidia will most likely announce a new graphics chipset that will beat the current gen Apple graphics processors
  • Ace Legend 1/7/2013 4:07:11 AM
@Cuda Power That seems kind of relative. An OS itself can not be faster. If there was a tablet with a 2.2 GHz processor and 4 GB of RAM with Tegra 3, it would be on par with many RT devices. The speed is all in the specs. Not that the OS can't contribute, but the difference isn't vast.
  • Cuda Power 1/7/2013 4:07:17 AM
well do not forget about GRID
  • cory the investor 1/7/2013 4:07:22 AM
this better be about tegra 4
  • Irfan Sheriff 1/7/2013 4:07:25 AM
So nexus 7 is gonna get outdated in just six months
  • cory the investor 1/7/2013 4:07:27 AM
    tegra 4 a beast
  • Nick Anthony 1/7/2013 4:07:30 AM
Omg a gaming tablet by nvidia would be amazing!
  • NTAPIAS 1/7/2013 4:07:39 AM
When is this going to start?
  • Rich Brown 1/7/2013 4:08:10 AM
It's supposed to begin at 8. Late now.
  • The Goog 1/7/2013 4:08:21 AM
@rich brown- the valve box would only be a hit if priced right.
  • Cuda Power 1/7/2013 4:08:36 AM
Well in props to tegra 3 is that it is almost as fast as newer chips and it was old tech. it just took a long time to make it to market.
  • Rob Schoenfeld 1/7/2013 4:08:39 AM
Prediction Tegra 4 with LTE in dual and quad core soc. 8 Times the processing power.
  • Jdaff 1/7/2013 4:08:42 AM
I could see a GDDR 6 Ram for new GPU's probably the 7xx series. As for tegra 4 I don't see it yet possibly a 3.5 but not a 4. Although Mohr's Law might disprove me.
