  • James Martin 1/7/2013 5:53:29 AM
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:53:55 AM
Because it is a pure Android device, all of our accounts, everything you do with your Andoid device just works here.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:55:07 AM
Suppose we could stream from PCs. Want to try that? Third tab on ShieldZone is games (all Android games purchased), TegraZone is store for new games, then PC. Connected to home PC.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:55:28 AM
First technical difficulty of the night.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:55:43 AM
Demo for connection to PC not working yet.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 5:55:55 AM
    Demo problems.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:56:38 AM
Am actually surprised it took this long for demo problems. Wi-Fi issues almost seem normal at any tech presentation.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:56:46 AM
    And success!
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:57:00 AM
Kind of. Shows the PC desktop but that's not what we were supposed to see.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 5:57:13 AM
They're trying to stream a PC onto Shield. I think.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:57:24 AM
Trying to figure out now what to do.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 5:57:47 AM
Still no info on price or release date.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:58:16 AM
Culmination of five years of work across every single organization.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:58:20 AM
And now success for real this time.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 5:58:48 AM
Now streaming Steam Big Picture mode onto Shield from a PC sitting nearby.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 5:59:29 AM
You're sitting anywhere in the house. PC in room. Sitting on couch pretending you're spending time with family. Or in bed pretending to be sleeping.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 5:59:35 AM
Need for Speed: Most Wanted playing on Shield, streamed from a high end PC.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 5:59:47 AM
    Pretty awesome.
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 6:00:44 AM
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:00:53 AM
What's happening here is Shield controller commands are being sent to PC, graphics rendered, streamed back out in a jiffy. Latency is so short, it's as if you are right there connected to a PC.
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 6:01:23 AM
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:01:26 AM
    Now Assassin's Creed demo.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 6:01:26 AM
Apparently the latency in so short, you won't notice. I'll need to text that myself to be sure.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 6:02:23 AM
These are all now demos streaming from a PC to Shield, output to a 4K TV.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:02:37 AM
Asks crowd what thinks about graphics. Lots of cheers.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:03:09 AM
Best possible graphics could put on television today. This is running on 4K television.
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 6:03:13 AM
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:03:27 AM
If we ignored all that other stuff just now, it just worked.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:03:41 AM
    Now launching Steam.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 6:04:08 AM
This is pretty cool, despite the initial glitch.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:04:35 AM
You saw Shield enjoy games from two of the most important digital stores in the world. The Google Play store, within it a curated game store, TegraZone.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 6:04:50 AM
I wonder how well it'll stream from an ATI-based PC.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:04:52 AM
Everything purchase just shows up on Shield. Download it and play the way it's meant to be played.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:05:08 AM
Can also connect to Steam. Gamers able to enjoy their Steam games from anywhere in the house.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:05:32 AM
Our vision is the way you play games with these devices (because everything right there), the types of games you will be able to enjoy will be very different.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 6:05:58 AM
I'm just excited about playing Xcom in bed.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:05:59 AM
To summarize, the consumer electronics industry has been radically, radically changed over the past 10 years.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:06:22 AM
We wanted to create the pieces necessary for us to do the same for video games.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:06:42 AM
This is what we've done: created GFE, essentially an application that allows the end user to enjoy the game simply but take advantage of full potential of personal computer
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:06:55 AM
Piece of software in GFE that all streams and connects to a mobile device called Shield
  • James Martin 1/7/2013 6:06:59 AM
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:07:27 AM
This Shield also allows you to today connect what we showed you was HDMI but in a short period of time will be able to connect wirelessly, using streaming tech, to stream to TV, as well.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:07:55 AM
If like to share movie watching on Shield with your TV, simply beam to your TV. Could be SmartTV, dongle that has Wifi to HDMI
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 6:08:06 AM
I guess it's simular to what Nintendo is doing with the Wii U controller, but feels more impressive and exciting.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:08:07 AM
All supplemented with cloud service made possible by Grid
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:08:27 AM
Together it creates the ability for us to enjoy videogames on any device at any time and on any screen
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:08:36 AM
Looks like we have a little bit more work on Shield
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:08:50 AM
    And that's all folks.
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 6:08:55 AM
    No price or availability though...
  • Eric Franklin 1/7/2013 6:09:22 AM
    Thanks for coming guys.
  • Shara Tibken 1/7/2013 6:09:51 AM
