So we're starting our live coverage of the Samsung Galaxy S III launch in England. I'm here in NYC and will be listening to Samsung's stream of the event.
Jessica Dolcourt will be joining me shortly from San Francisco.
Kent German from San Francisco will chime in as well. And Roger Cheng will also pipe in every now and again as well.
Hello all, Roger Cheng checking in from Los Angeles.
@Jgmoore we will have to see. But I think it's going to be a good size screen.
There's been a lot of buzz and speculation about the upgrades to the Galaxy S III.
The Galaxy franchise is one of the main reasons Samsung has been so successful at selling Android phones, avoiding the pitfalls that have tripped up so many of its competitors.
Outside of the next iPhone, the Galaxy S III is the most highly anticipated phone launch this year.
@jedifarmboy I hear you! I would like to see that too.
Yeah, the screens have always been solid on the Galaxy phones. I'm hoping Samsung keeps up that tradition.
But I think the HTC One X at AT&T is going to give this phone a run for it's money.
@jgmoore1701 I hear you...I'm always waiting for the NEXT GREAT PHONE.
Not sure if anyone else is listening to the soothing music on Samsung's site for the webcast, but it's making me very sleepy. I feel like I'm at a spa!
@diego I am hoping we hear something about carrier support here. But since it's being launched in the U.K., they might not say anything about US carriers yet.
Greetings, everyone! I'm a little too excited for this announcement.
@Chi-town Sorry, Apple's next iPhone definitely has this beat in terms of buzz. I'm not saying it'll be a better phone, only that more people are interested in the iPhone. Just look at the sales figures for the iPhone 4S vs. Galaxy phones -- they don't compare.
@muunda I agree re: TouchWiz. In my opinion, it's one of the only things holding Samsung back.
@Nazim I'm with you. I need a new phone myself and I'm waiting to see what this one looks like too. But I really like the HTC One X.
Looks like Samsung's pre-show has begun. Early--that's so refreshing.
The spokeswoman on the video is really excited. And now we're going to see a video about how other people on the streets of London are excited too.
@sidbandhu It really does feel like that, doesn't it?
Ok, so here's the thing. Samsung usually launches the Euro/global version first and we here in the US languish in our jealously. Luckily, we have the HTC One X to distract us.
