Here's our monster rumour roundup on the Galaxy Note 4 to keep you busy:
  • Luke Westaway 9/3/2014 12:37:31 PM
We're in! Unpacked seems a little smaller than the same time last year. Here's hoping Samsung hasn't also toned down the announcements...
  • Nick Hide 9/3/2014 12:38:42 PM
IFA is one of the biggest events of the tech calendar. Here's everything so far, including a pretty cool looking smartwatch from Asus:
  • Jason Jenkins 9/3/2014 12:38:48 PM
Hi all - we're just getting set up inside the 4,000 seat venue in Berlin, struggling with the usual connection problems. We'll be with you at the top of the hour with the latest as it happens. Exciting stuff!
  • Luke Westaway 9/3/2014 12:39:07 PM
The countdown stands at 23 minutes to launch. Samsung has opted for booming club music, instead of its usual orchestral fare.
  • Andrew Hoyle 9/3/2014 12:39:07 PM

The pen touched our souls, Samsung says.

  • Nick Hide 9/3/2014 12:39:30 PM

Perhaps time to upgrade my Note 1! Great live coverage ...keep it up!
  • Thomas 9/3/2014 12:40:24 PM
i hope there will be a metal body with removable back cover, bigger battery, uhd screen, 4gb ram, 16-20+mp camera with a better/bigger sensor most of all, thinner design maybe, etc..ect..note 3 is already amazing
  • Badonicus 9/3/2014 12:40:32 PM
This is just the starter salad to Apple's Steak main course next week :)
  • Luke Westaway 9/3/2014 12:41:02 PM
The assembled press is taking their seats -- as usual it's a crazed scrum for seats, a good view and functioning Wi-Fi.
  • Jason Jenkins 9/3/2014 12:42:14 PM
So far, no Samsung orchestra - my ears are very thankful.
  • Nick Hide 9/3/2014 12:42:53 PM
Before he jetted off to Germany, Luke made this cool video on how the original Note changed our idea of how big smartphone screens could be:
  • Jason Jenkins 9/3/2014 12:43:03 PM
"The S Pen gets even more innovative" says a big screen in front of us - so I guess we'll see something new on the new Note's stylus
  • Andrew Hoyle 9/3/2014 12:43:10 PM

    Here's the crowd!

  • AcemanX AcemanX 9/3/2014 12:43:25 PM
@Badonicus pfft Note 4 will smoke the Iphone just like the Note 3 did last year
  • Vikas 9/3/2014 12:43:26 PM
I just hope Note comes with a metal finish! Else other stuff is remarkable
  • Andrew Hoyle 9/3/2014 12:43:48 PM
  • Zane Badenhorst 9/3/2014 12:44:54 PM
Finally, Very keen to find out what I have been waiting for since July. South Africa!!
  • Nick Hide 9/3/2014 12:45:44 PM
We'll have a live stream of the event here when the action gets underway in Berlin.
  • Jason Jenkins 9/3/2014 12:45:54 PM
The event is slightly smaller scale than normal, probably because there are simultaneous events in Berlin, Beijing and New York. Still massive for a product launch though.
  • mike 9/3/2014 12:45:56 PM
A metal finish would be nice, but not at the expense of losing expandable storage
  • Andrew Hoyle 9/3/2014 12:46:05 PM

    There's a keyboard on stage.

  • Luke Westaway 9/3/2014 12:46:10 PM
Samsung's event comes mere days ahead of Apple's next big announcement. Oh noble readers of the liveblog, tell us -- who do you think will have the better products on show?
  • DakotaRiley19972016 9/3/2014 12:46:33 PM
Hope this is the phone that could dissuade from iPhone 6L
  • Matthew H. 9/3/2014 12:46:47 PM
    Samsung, duh.
  • ÁlvaroSZ 9/3/2014 12:46:51 PM
@AndrewHoyle Like that pics! That will be more visual! ;-)
  • Luke Westaway 9/3/2014 12:47:23 PM
A big S Pen swivels around on screen and lights up with a glowing aura. A disclaimer below reads "S Pen does not include illumination."
  • Jason Jenkins 9/3/2014 12:47:48 PM
Starting to feel slightly hypnotised by the flashing pens in front of me. Must. Buy. Samsung. Galaxy. Note.
  • Spartan Surfer Honolulu 9/3/2014 12:49:34 PM
    Flash Supported hopefully???
  • Andrew Hoyle 9/3/2014 12:49:50 PM

Samsung kicked off the big-phone revolution, but today loads of manufacturers are making massive mobiles. Tell us -- is Samsung still on top of its game, or is it slipping?
  • Jason Jenkins 9/3/2014 12:51:06 PM
More legal stuff: "All designs, features, specifications and user features represented herein may change without notice"
  • Andrew Hoyle 9/3/2014 12:51:18 PM
  • Maggie 9/3/2014 12:51:48 PM
Only Samsung for a big phone! Nothing even compares to my Note 3!
  • Kishore 9/3/2014 12:53:34 PM
@LukeWestaway I think they lead the innovation in this segment. Think Phablet, Think Note!
  • Vinayak k 9/3/2014 12:54:06 PM
@lukeWeastaway no samsung not slipping, you will just see in matter of secs.
