Boyes says gamers have been asking him for a bunch more zombie games. So now we see a preview for a game with a man running down Venice beach, with all sorts of zombie mayhem behind him. But he doesn't know because he's got his headphones in. Or maybe because he's becoming a zombie himself? Looks like.
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 1:42:46 AM
The game is "Dead Island 2."

The zombie genre has evolved/devolved into self-referential parody -- the Shaun of the Dead effect, I suppose.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 1:43:23 AM
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 1:43:33 AM
Boyes says "The Last of Us" isn't just coming to PS4, it's also coming to an exclusive themed dungeon for "Diablo III," the popular dungeon hunter from Blizzard Entertainment.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 1:43:35 AM
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/10/2014 1:44:02 AM
I liked Dead Island 1, but the "Riptide" sequel was, well, miserable.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 1:44:10 AM
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 1:44:28 AM
Now, we get another gameplay trailer for "Battlefield: Hardline," EA's up and coming cops-and-robbers title.
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 1:45:03 AM
Boyes is quick to note that PS4 owners get early access to the game's pre-release version now.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 1:45:17 AM
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 1:46:20 AM
Boyes says "Disney Infinity 2" will also only have the Hulk in a special PS4 bundle.

  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 1:46:43 AM
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/10/2014 1:46:44 AM
So the new "exclusive" is specific content, even if it's a multi-platform game. Early beta access, exclusive missions, etc.

Boyes also notes that PS4 has an exclusive agreement with Paradox Interactive, for "Magicka 2"
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 1:49:07 AM
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 1:50:30 AM
Boyes says game maker Double Fine is remastering "Grim Fandango" for the PS4 and Vita.
  • dan.ackerman 6/10/2014 1:50:31 AM
Ok, that one just blew my mind. Gram Fandango is one of those classic lost games.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 1:51:32 AM
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 1:52:11 AM
Now for a rundown of smaller developer titles coming to PS4: "Broforce," "Titan Souls," "Not a Hero," Hotline Miami 2" (a sequelt to a rather popular and bloody shooting game, and "The Talos Principle."

Microsoft's event didn't even seem like a battle cry to go against Sony. So far, not the feel of the mega console wars that used to be. Sony has an opportunity to make a big counter-splash.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 1:54:19 AM
I might tweet from my Vita if things get really desperate.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 1:54:19 AM
    Mars.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 1:54:19 AM
A game about space colonization. And ruins.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 1:54:20 AM
    Space. A capsule. A planet. It's...
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 1:54:20 AM
The feel is very Oblivion. In a good way.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 1:54:20 AM
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 1:54:22 AM
"Play it first, play it better." That's splashed on the screens here.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 1:54:24 AM
    And a big crowd-pleaser, LittleBigPlanet 3.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 1:54:24 AM
