No Man's Sky is from a tiny little studio...
  • David Carnoy 6/10/2014 2:02:33 AM
No two players will have the same experience. Each player will start on a different planet.
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 2:02:40 AM
Next up, we have a space-shooting game "No Man's Sky." The title is a sci-fi game in which players fly from world to world, looking for planets, species etc. "We'll start every player on a different planet so no two people have the same experience," the developer says. Everything's developed automatically by the computer, so the universe is infinite, he adds.

Indie designers seem to understand that console games should employ colors. Bright, beautiful colors.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 2:03:22 AM
No Man's Sky. Which looks stunning. Indie studio making an impressive-looking explorational sci-fi game. Finding different worlds. Indies making the most interesting stuff here at E3.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:03:25 AM
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 2:03:32 AM
Now Andrew House back on stage. "A key focus tonight has been to demonstrate why PlayStation 4 is the best place to play today and in the future."
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:04:03 AM
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 2:04:09 AM
House says Sony made the concious decision to make the PS4 "the most powerful console ever created." A key peripheral he notes, which was sold at a choice, was the PS4 camera.

Project Morpheus is now being shown. How close is this to release?
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:04:52 AM
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 2:05:00 AM
He says response has been far more than expected. And now the camera uses the Morpheus. The device "demonstrates how we are fully leveraging the the PlayStation Camera."
  • David Carnoy 6/10/2014 2:05:10 AM
Microsoft downplaying Kinect -- while Sony playing up its Camera. Nice.
  • John Falcone 6/10/2014 2:05:29 AM
  • David Carnoy 6/10/2014 2:06:03 AM
Project Morpheus VR headset will be in the PlayStation booth with two new demos.
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 2:06:11 AM
Now Shawn Layden, the new head of PlayStation in America. He's taking over for Jack Tretton, who abruptly left his job earlier this year.
  • John Falcone 6/10/2014 2:06:18 AM
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/10/2014 2:06:22 AM
OK, so you'll need PlayStation Camera for Morpheus then right?
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:06:22 AM
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:06:30 AM
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:06:38 AM
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 2:07:03 AM
Layden, clad in a suit, purple tie and a pocket square, says he's very excited. "Our desire to bring great games to all of you is matched by our commitment to bring a great gaming experience to the whole world of PSN."
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:07:26 AM
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/10/2014 2:07:33 AM

  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:07:55 AM
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 2:08:12 AM
PSN being discussed. Xbox Live was notably not discussed at Microsoft.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 2:08:18 AM
No, just reminding us to go play Project Morpheus games here at E3. Demo-style. No further info.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 2:08:36 AM
Project Morpheus mention is more hardware-related talk than Microsoft had in its whole E3 presser.
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 2:08:36 AM
More than 1 Billion multiplayer sessions have been played on PS4 since launch, Layden says. The Share Button on the PlayStation has been pressed 220 million times, he adds. And it will likely be pressed even more when YouTube is added this year.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 2:08:38 AM
Share button pressed 220 million times, but not by me unless I was trying to call a time out in Madden.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:08:48 AM
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/10/2014 2:09:24 AM
    Don't forget. YouTube bought Twitch.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:10:20 AM
  • David Carnoy 6/10/2014 2:11:54 AM
25 Free to Play games coming to PSN this year.
  • David Carnoy 6/10/2014 2:12:20 AM
"Free to Play" really means free.
  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 2:12:42 AM
A lot of free to play shown for Vita. Competition against phones.
  • Josh Miller 6/10/2014 2:12:57 AM
  • David Carnoy 6/10/2014 2:13:12 AM
"Certain features are available for a fee." Not surprising.

  • Scott Stein 6/10/2014 2:15:30 AM

  • David Carnoy 6/10/2014 2:15:44 AM
Over 100 games will be available during open beta...
  • Jeff Bakalar 6/10/2014 2:15:58 AM
Ahh, but there doesn't seem to be any kind of pricing structure just yet.
  • Ian Sherr 6/10/2014 2:16:08 AM
Layden says PS Now on Vita is proof that Sony is dedicated to the platform.
  • David Carnoy 6/10/2014 2:16:13 AM
