    Hi everyone

  • John Falcone 3/19/2014 12:37:03 AM
Our on-site team is getting situated right now.
  • John Falcone 3/19/2014 12:38:13 AM
We should have pics and text soon
  • John Falcone 3/19/2014 12:38:28 AM
    No video livestream, unfortunately
  • John Falcone 3/19/2014 12:39:11 AM
The rumor -- NOT CONFIRMED -- is that Sony is going to announce some sort of VR headset, possibly similar to the Oculus Rift.
  • Drago 3/19/2014 12:40:15 AM
@john.falcone any word on it being PS4 bundle and/or price related?
  • John Falcone 3/19/2014 12:40:34 AM
So far, we know nothing. Hoping for questions to be answered during the event.
  • Nick Statt 3/19/2014 12:41:07 AM
Hey everyone. Brian Tong, Eric Franklin, and I are here and settled in at the Sony session. Some visual ambience provided by photographer James Martin coming shortly.
  • Paul 3/19/2014 12:42:15 AM
Will there be a video of the event tomorrow?
  • John Falcone 3/19/2014 12:42:38 AM
We hope to get hands-on video and photos of whatever's announced tonight when the GDC show floor opens at 10am PT tomorrow.
  • Andre Brewer 3/19/2014 12:43:14 AM
I wonder if they will show Playstation now.
  • Nathan French 3/19/2014 12:43:18 AM
here's hoping for a ps4 VR headset that you can use with your PC.
  • John Falcone 3/19/2014 12:43:42 AM
@Nathan French -- I dunno, I'm guessing Sony will want to keep things in the PlayStation universe.
  • AJ Hanson 3/19/2014 12:45:01 AM
I'd be very surprised if it was allowed for use on PC. Sony will want to keep this in their wheelhouse
  • Karl Jones 3/19/2014 12:45:04 AM
I just hope the headset isnt too expensive
  • Benjamin 3/19/2014 12:45:57 AM
I feel like a Virtual Reality headset would be more of an E3 thing. Just because it's a bigger event. But since this is only an hour, they have plenty of time to show off VR.
  • Nick Statt 3/19/2014 12:46:02 AM
Staff here very adamant on the no video rule, making the chances this a product unveil very likely.
  • DollowR 3/19/2014 12:46:06 AM
I will buy it no matter what.
  • John Falcone 3/19/2014 12:47:06 AM
We should be starting any minute now, if they're sticking to the original schedule.
  • AJ Hanson 3/19/2014 12:47:13 AM
I still don't own a PS4. The games just aren't there for me yet.
  • Drago 3/19/2014 12:47:18 AM
I really do hope they announce a PS4 bundle or some new features coming in an update!
  • YAHOOit 3/19/2014 12:47:26 AM
I hope Shenmue 3 will be only on PS4 . And maybe HD Collection Remakes. If so I'll buy a PS4 in a heartbeat
  • Eric Franklin 3/19/2014 12:47:36 AM
Claps all around. Looks like we're starting
  • Nick Statt 3/19/2014 12:48:33 AM
Shuhei Yoshida onstage now. Calls this whole affair cryptic, with a laugh. We can all agree there.
  • James Martin 3/19/2014 12:49:21 AM
  • Nick Statt 3/19/2014 12:49:31 AM
"Since the early days of video games, the industry has grown by leveraging technological advances...advances people may not be expecting or did not know were possible." --Yoshida
  • James Martin 3/19/2014 12:49:43 AM
  • James Martin 3/19/2014 12:50:06 AM
  • Nick Statt 3/19/2014 12:50:31 AM
    Virtual reality confirmed.
  • James Martin 3/19/2014 12:50:47 AM
  • Nick Statt 3/19/2014 12:51:07 AM
No surprise there, but a large object onstage next to Yoshida is draped in black. Excited to see what this thing looks like.
  • Eric Franklin 3/19/2014 12:51:12 AM
I still cant help but think of 10fps VR from the 90s when I hear "VR".
  • James Martin 3/19/2014 12:51:28 AM
  • Eric Franklin 3/19/2014 12:51:38 AM
I'm hoping Sony's solution hits at least 20fps!
  • Eric Franklin 3/19/2014 12:52:02 AM
    60fps would be preferable though.
  • Nick Statt 3/19/2014 12:52:33 AM
"It [VR} goes one step further from immersion to delivered presence," says Yoshida. "VR has been a dream of game creators, many at PlayStation."
  • James Martin 3/19/2014 12:52:39 AM
  • Eric Franklin 3/19/2014 12:52:45 AM
But I'm getting ahead of myself. They've still not shown anything.
  • Nick Statt 3/19/2014 12:53:27 AM
Yoshida shows off Sony VR prototypes he's worn himself. As anyone wearing a VR headset looks, Yoshida looks straight out of the future.
  • Eric Franklin 3/19/2014 12:53:49 AM
God of War demo of an early prototype being shown.
  • Eric Franklin 3/19/2014 12:54:31 AM
Very violent, ver God of War. Looked promising.
  • Nick Statt 3/19/2014 12:54:54 AM
First-person sequences in God of War is something its developers always wanted to do, and even put into the game as QTE to give you a FPS view of Kratos. Looks like that will be a reality soon enough.
  • James Martin 3/19/2014 12:55:58 AM
  • Eric Franklin 3/19/2014 12:56:23 AM
Looks like the VR will incorporate some type of Move technology. In all the prototypes, it's attached to the side.
