  • Ian Sherr 6/3/2019 6:02:01 PM
Also, the Siri voice is changing. Apple's worked on making it sound much more realistic. (And it does sound less robotic)

    Here's comes the fragmentation...
  • Scott Stein 6/3/2019 6:03:37 PM
    Acknowledging it’s its own thing.

Federighi says the iPad has evolved -- slide-over, split-view, drag-drop and pencil. Big changes for iPad, and "the time has come to recognize the platform in a special way."

  • Scott Stein 6/3/2019 6:04:50 PM

Now we're going to get a demo. We get stuff like widgets on the home screen. There's also a slide-over history, so you can switch quickly between apps. That's pretty nifty.
  • Scott Stein 6/3/2019 6:05:47 PM
All slide over pop-out panels can be browsed and brought up fast. (Do you know the difference between that and Split View?)
  • James Martin 6/3/2019 6:05:55 PM
  • Ian Sherr 6/3/2019 6:06:03 PM
Split-view gets multi-window options (thank you!). You can have two Notes side-by-side. (Ahem, Google Docs and Evernote)
  • James Martin 6/3/2019 6:06:21 PM
  • Scott Stein 6/3/2019 6:06:29 PM
Split View now can do multi window in same app beyond just Safari. Notes demoed.

Good laptop-like features for iPad OS. Add mouse/cursor support and it's basically a laptop, end of story.
  • Scott Stein 6/3/2019 6:07:13 PM
When will Google Docs become iPad friendly
